Remembering Ginny

By Steve Smith

Drowning in her sadness
Just living for her next fix
Only to make her feel human
She really was so sick

She needed so much help
We tried the best we could

We tried everything possible
Somedays we did stop trying
It was just so hard on us
We always found a way back

She needed so much help
We did the best we could

Ginny Twigg

Days she wanted us to try
Next day she would pull away
Knowing how helping hurt us
Would make her close the door

She needed so much help
We did the best we could

It was a cycle of confusion
Never knowing what to do
Do we push or pull away
There was no way to know

She needed so much help
We tried the best we could

Every day and night we’d worry
Not really knowing where she was
Hoping that she wasn’t alone
Just praying she was still alive

Ginny Twigg with her brother, Scott

She needed so much help
We did the best we could

She loved her little boy so much
He could not really see his Momma
Just the way it had to be
They loved each other every day

She needed so much help
We did the best we could

He would ask her when he could
Please get better Momma
We used to have so much fun
He asked until the day she left us

A man holding his young daughter.
Ginny Twigg with her father

She needed so much help
We tried the best we could

We love and miss her every day
We have memories good and sad
Her beautiful smile gone forever
We did our best to save her

She needed so much help
We tried the best we could.
